The Wowster’s Oscar predictions for 2012

Best picture will be the all conquering The Artist, the brilliant silent evocation of early Hollywood

Best Director award will go to Martin Scorcese for his spectacular homage to the history of the Cinema in Hugo.

Best Actor award will be won by Gary Oldman for his turn as George Smiley in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy with the Is There No Justice award going to Peter Mullan for his amazing portrayal in Tyrannosaur

Best Actress award will go to Rooney Mara with her savage turn as The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo with the Is There No Justice award going to Olivia Coleman for her amazing portrayal in Tyrannosaur

Best supporting actor award will go to Ben Kingsley for his role as the pioneer of cinema in Hugo

Best supporting actress award will go to Amara Miller for her role as the screwed up daughter in The Descendants.
