True love never runs smoothly, so it is said. But to run crookedly? Now there’s a thing.

Enter Chris Niven, our charming and handsome operations manager of wowdeyou. He is quiet, thoughtful and intelligent. And a complete bounder (English for rogue).

Chris never tires of regaling us with stories about his girlfriend. How lovely she is. And how she loves all things to do with weddings. She goes to at least one every weekend.

But she has a phobia about anything cultural or remotely intellectual. Chris describes a weekend with her as resting his mind.

Recently he wanted to go to the Internationally renowned Edinburgh Festival. To make this happen, he pretended they were going to Edinburgh Zoo.

Then, on arrival, he claimed that the zoo had closed. But why not take a walk through Edinburgh instead?

He escorted the bewildered girl through Edinburgh, expressing astonishment at the number of troubadours filling the street with culture vultures. “Must be something on”, he mumbled.

Chris’s latest escapade is due to his girlfriend only going to movies in 3d. Apparently, he has bought her a pair of non 3d dark glasses for every film they go to see.

I’ve met his girlfriend and I can report she is lively and intelligent. Too good for him, if you ask this reporter.

Have you tried to pull the wool over the eyes of your beloved? If so how, tell all. That and other revelations and comments gratefully accepted.
