Cop this…you want to know the time, don’t ask a policeman, it’s costing us a fortune, says The Wowster.
Want to know the time, well don’t ask a policeman. It’s costing us a fortune. In Scotland Yard’s case, a cool £17000 a year.
That was the cost for 55,000 calls to premium lines.
Already the force has spent £250,000 on such calls at a time when the police force is being cut back.
Figures also showed that the Met had spent over 95,000 on directory enquiries last year.
Apparently the Met are not the only offenders, the fault line runs nation wide.
The Met say their officers often need to know the exact time for procedural reasons. Really?
So what’s wrong with wearing a decent watch?
