The Wowster looks at Blackberrys fiasco for the police
A large Blackberry has been blown at giving the police mobile phones to help them with their work.
The UK’s National Audit Office reports that only one in five forces use them effectively.
The Blackberrys idea was to cut the length of time police spend at their desks doing paperwork.
It would seem that very few police are clear how this wizard idea is to be achieved or as the Audit people say it has not delivered value for money.
Well there are some benefits such as officers being out of the station an extra 18 minutes a shift (probably to text the extramarital).
To add surplus to injury three of the forces ended up with more phones than officers. Unbelievable? Nope.
The Wowster is the pen name of Nathan Goldberg, wowdewow publisher and founder. A non Blackberry person, strictly Galaxy.
Do feel free to comment on whether you think the blackberrys are the right way forward?
