Beggars Belief

Beggars Belief. Ed Hart on an elderly vagrant being punished

WHAT DO YOU GIVE  the person who has nothing? An Asbo.

A 74-year-old, Agrippina Gheorge, of no fixed abode, has been given an Asbo and banned from the centre of Cardiff.

Her crime which beggars belief was harassing shoppers through begging.

No one spares a thought as to why she begs, especially when there is shopping to be done and “justice” to be meted out.

Injustice piled on humiliation

Begging is humiliating but punishing someone for it is a calumny. Gheorge is not only banned from begging, she isn’t allowed in the Welsh capital from 8am to 8pm.

Should Gheorge break the order she will be fined or perhaps jailed. That’s the stuff.

Make her life even more miserable. What finer qualities can British justice bestow than cruelty, iniquity, further penury and/or possible incarceration?

Anti-social behaviour orders

Begging is annoying but is less anti-social  than punishing people for poverty. That’s a real, low-life crime.

Cardiff deputy leader, Judith Woodman is reported as applauding Cardiff Council, South Wales Police and CPS for their help.

The terminator
This self appointed chastiser of the low lifes in Cardiff said: “Cardiff has a vibrant city centre to be proud of and attracts significant amounts (sic) of visitors every year.

“It is unacceptable for people to behave in this manner…”

Dead right. So why did she do it…

Who cares why they’re poor?
Dom Heldar Camara, the Archbishop of Recife, Brazil, once said: “When I help the poor they call me a saint.

“When I ask why they are poor, they call me a Communist.”

The song of the baffled…and the impotent

Ed Hart, a wowdewow editor, and constant scourge of low-life justice
