Madonna’s Family Fortunes

Published on October 25, 2011 by   ·   No Comments

Lynn Tulloch assesses the familial discord among the Ciccones and finds that it isn’t only trolls that live under bridges.

BELIEVING FAMILIES should stick together is one thing, carrying it out in practice is another. Sure you can have fights and arguments with a person you are related to, that’s not the point I’m making, but is there ever a point when you should wash your hands of them?

Sacred cash cow
In 2008, Madonna’s brother, Christopher Ciccone published a book “Life With My Sister Madonna” which was apparently nothing more than a bitch-fest book where he ripped into her for being self-obsessed and having a whole array of personality flaws.

It may be true, but it’s sure as hell not very nice to make money out of someone like that never mind your sister, no matter how much of an alleged cow she might be.

A bridge too far
Now it’s Anthony Ciccone who is in the spotlight. The 55-year-old says he is penniless after being made unemployed by the family business. He says that he relies on handouts and freebees from charities and sleeps under a bridge. The question being asked not by Anthony but by the media is why isn’t Madonna helping him, after all isn’t she rich as hell?

Hand wash only
Anthony has not just Madonna and the aforementioned Christopher as siblings but another five that have washed their hands of him too. So surely it’s not just Madonna who should be criticised?

The grapes of wrath
Another point to ponder is how many of you have worked with people who are only there because they are related to the owner? Eh? Yeah, that’s right, you know how very hard it is for relations to lose their jobs. So just what exactly caused Anthony to lose his job with the Ciccone Vineyard?

Maybe there is a really valid reason why the Ciccones have washed their hands of Anthony, who knows and really, who am I to judge what that reason is?

Lynn Tulloch is wowdewow lifestyle editor and knows that a family is for life and not just for Christmas.

Should the Ciccone family have open season on Madonna’s purse or should they get out from under their bridges and prejudices and stop whining? Have your say in Readers Comments.
