The Wowster advises that less is more when starting to blog.
First things first. When blogging, decide which market you’re in.
Warning: try to niche yourself for less is more.
If you do, you make it easier to succeed, less competition and more brand recognition. If you don’t and try to produce something like this website with a wide range of subjects, you’ll fail unless you know what you’re doing. Even then, there’s no guarantee.
I’ve been doing it for 15 months and I am only starting to make some money. Also I knew what I was letting myself in for, which helps including a decent track record as a journalist and publisher.
Much simpler is to dive in at the shallow end and grow outwards than do what I did.
Not that I regret a moment of it, honestly. But better for you probably to begin small and grow big if you want.
Whatever you decide, watch this space.
