Enter the Dragon

H&M buy into the Swedish Look.

Clare Grant watches the birth of a fashion brand. Truly that Lisbeth Salander is a marvel. Tucking into all those takeaway pizzas and STILL squeezing into her drainpipe trousers. Without even pulling that trademark scowl!

H&M launch a fashion brand based on the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Life imitates art, imitates life....

Those keen to channel the Lisbeth Look can do so by visiting selected branches of H&M where a 30 piece collection will be available from December 14.

The chain – which is Swedish like Lisbeth – has collaborated with costume designer Trish Summerville who worked on the English film version of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Beat-up jeans, bumfreezer jackets, weathered leather boots will all be sold under the company’s more alternative Divided label. Windcheaters too are crucial but you wouldn’t want to hug THIS hoodie!

Her late creator Stieg Larsson surely wouldn’t approve but filmgoers at least could argue that Lisbeth DOES wear duds from the store. In a prison scene, she’s given a carrier bag full of them by her lawyer. Yes Lisbeth, may lack the tools to say thank you – but boy can that girl rock a jogging suit!

It’s Millennium get-up in every sense  - but here’s a wowdewow style tip for all you would-be girl avengers out there. The wardrobe may be all laid on – but the attitude cannot be manufactured!

The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo UK release: December 26.
