How dare they. Huff, Huff. They’re threatening the futures of our children. Puff, Puff.
They are Facebook, the almost-masters of the world. Their accusers?
Go on guess?
You got it, Google, sounding like Bambi to Facebook’s Goliath as opposed to being their to-the-death competitor.
But please read on once you have recovered from doubling up with laughter, due to the world’s biggest search engine accusing ANYONE of having too much information.
For there is a serious problem which is not lessened by the temerity of the accuser.
Google CEO, Eric Schmidt, says the enormous amount of detail that Facebook has could come back to haunt young users when they apply for jobs in the future.
They may be forced to change their identity to escape their frivolous cyber past.
Whoa, cowboy! The question this reporter is asking: by what yardstick should people be stopped from giving any more information, and what might that information be in any case.
The argument is futile. The tide of man has never been turned when it comes to self harm. And children have never been protected from the outcomes.
Perhaps a little optimism is all we really have, and to beware of self-interested prophets of doom. Or should that be self-interested profits?
So what do you think? Take it seriously or a curse on all their houses? That and other comments welcome.
