The Wowster asks the question…is there life on Venus?
A Russian scientist has set the cat among the pigeons, or rather a scorpion among anyone living on Venus.
Leonid Ksanfomalti of the Space Research Insitute has re-examined the pictures taken by the probe Venus 30 which land on the planet’s surface 30 years ago.
He says the images show a scorpion shaped body, a disk and a ‘black flap’ which seemed to move.
He asks: “What about if we forgot about the non-existence of life on Venus and let us boldly suggest the objects’ features would allow us to say that it is living.
A big ask given the planet is the hottest in the system with its constant temperature at 480 C. But then stranger thing have been known to happen.
Or so we are told.
