Facebook IPO set for lift-off

Published on February 4, 2012 by   ·   No Comments

The Wowster on the forthcoming Facebook IPO.

The Web is abuzz with the impending multi-multi-billion dollar Facebook IPO.

Will if be 60 bill, will it be 100 bill, ludicrously high figures are being trotted out for the biggest Internet public offering of all time.

While others are loosing their heads, Cp’n Mark Zuckerberg is keeping his. The word from the Cap’n's bridge is:

“Stay focussed and keep shipping” whatever that means.

But it has not all been roses, questions are beginning to be asked as to whether a social network is a good long term investment.

But the decider is not Zuckerberg’s flannel about being on a social mission, it’s the numbers baby. And that number is $3 billion profit last year and you can’t ignore those apples.

Nevertheless my guess is that it will be at the lower end of the forecast spectrum, the point about being a long term investment is a good one in a world where short term is the name of the game.

The Wowster is the pen name of Nathan Goldberg, wowdewow publisher and founder. No word of a wowdewow IPO yet.

Do feel free to comment on whether you think the Facebook evaluation is ludicrous?
