Homes For The Rich

The Wowster on how homes for the rich only get bigger and better

Oh Goodie. At least one sector of the world’s population isn’t suffering untowardly from the economic calamity.

We’re talking homes for the rich, they’re only getting bigger and a lot more splendiferous.

Take  Dmitry Rybolovlev, a Russion fertiliser magnate who doesn’t know the meaning of being in the shit. He  has just shelled out a cool 88 mill  for a pad with a view for his 22-year-old university student daughter, Ekaterina Rybolovleva.

Some stats:

The 6,744 sq ft (627 sq m) apartment in Central Park West is the highest value individual property sale in New York history.

It works out about $13,000 (£8,204) per square foot.

So according to people who salivate over such things, whatever is happening elsewhere, the extreme luxury property market has bounced back with a vengeance.

Just as we were beginning to worry…
