THIS IS one of the shakes that I drink twice a day. Ideal for those with an active lifestyle doing a fitness and/or weights program.
Ideal after a workout
It’s one of the protein shakes, convenient and quick to make sure you get all the necessary nutrition after a workout.
Follow up with a meal later of baked sweet potato, steamed broccoli and mackeral fillets in lemon, lime and herb dressing.
Maintenance plus lean muscle
Consume approximately 50 grams of protein per day to ensure maintenance. This is what the average person requires.
Although protein requirements vary from person to person. For optimum lean muscle gain, for example, 1.5 to 2 grams of protein per kilogramme of bodyweight is required.
1/2 pint of skimmed milk.
1 banana.
3 teaspoons of peanut butter.
3 teaspoons of honey.
3 teaspoons of protein powder.
Blend all the ingredients into a super shake.
Protein shakes are a great way to get nutrition into your body fast.
Rather than breaking down the food
Sometimes better than food, they are easily absorbed by your body and they get straight to work. Your body doesn’t have to go through the lengthy process of breaking down the food.
They are also ideal for weight loss and fitness although they are not the ‘be all and end all’. A well balanced diet is still required. But they are a useful tool in your fitness and weight loss goals.
All action clip on how you prepare them …
