Laura McLuckie always has food on her mind, but this large snack trend seems to have even her totally stuffed.
Not that I’m one to shy away from a good meal, there’s a limit to exactly how much food one person can eat.
Apparently not according to some crazy foodies who’ve gone one-step further in king size snacking.
Pimp that Snack is a tasty trend that’s caught the imagination of the masses. Think your favourite biscuit but ten times the size.
All you do is fashion a way to create your giant snack, photograph the process and make a detailed plan of the preparation. Then send your photos into the Pimp That Snack website and revel in the glory of your culinary masterpiece.
Previous pimped snacks have included an 11kg beef burger, a giant crème egg and a titanic jammy dodger!
This got me thinking what I’d make given the patience and know how. At first I contemplated a giant pickled onion, but I doubt that’d be easy. I’m talking football size here, and I’d need to find a pickling jar large enough…too much hassle.
Then I thought about a huge fried egg made out of ice cream and custard…too messy.
And then it hit me like a giant pie in the face…I could make the worlds largest rice crispie cake…genius! Everyone loves rice crispie cakes!
Sure I’d need some origami lessons to fashion the paper case for such a mammoth task, but hey I’m willing to put in the effort.
But all the talk of making food just made me very hungry, so I gave up on the idea and made a sandwich.
