More balls please.

Andy McLaren puts your through your paces. Put your whole body through a tough workout using a simple but very effective tool. A medicine ball. They are also cheap to buy and require no special skills. The weight is relatively unimportant. Perform lots of reps.

Rotational Medicine Ball Squat

Great for toning, the medicine ball can be used for an all round workout

Press ups. Start by placing both your hands on the medicine ball. Could be in a variety of positions. A ‘V’, hands close together, on the ‘edge’ of the medicine ball or one hand on the medicine ball, one hand on the floor. And alternate. Or if you really want to push yourself, one hand on ball, one fist on floor and perform push up.

Perform traditional squats holding the ball out in front of you. Remember and get nice and ‘deep’ until you feel your legs burning.

Leg raises. Place the ball by your feet and, keeping your legs straight raise them. Hold for a second and lower.

Work your shoulders by simply raising the ball above you and lowering. Bring down to your chest area keeping your back straight. Remember always show good control.

Work your biceps by starting off with the ball in front of you, curl it towards you slowly and go back to starting point and repeat.
