Do it Yoda’s way

Lindsey Agness concludes her latest series of blogs on maximising your potential with a Yoda-speak discussion on trying to take action without any commitment

The most important thing to remember is to go for it 100%. I love this Yoda-speak from Star Wars because trying to take action is like taking no action at all.

‘Do or do not there is no try’ – Jedi Master Yoda

If I were to say to you that I will ‘try’ to meet you for lunch next week do you think I’m really committed to meeting you? I don’t think so.

The word ‘try’ is used in the English language as excuse for doing something in a half-hearted way or not doing it at all. Related to this, in NLP one of the important beliefs is that:

‘’Anything less than 100% is sabotage’’

That means if you are not going to go for something at 100% then don’t waste your time and money because you will be sabotaging your results from the start. Be willing to be flexible in your approach and be prepared to do something different.

One of my favourite quotes is: “If you always do what you’ve always done you always get what you’ve always got’’. Then be prepared to do WHATEVER IT TAKES to reach your goal within your own personal values.

To use Yoda-speak, are you ready to get started?

Do you spend too much time trying when you should be achieving? Please tell us how Lindsey’s advice can impact on your life.
