SCHOOLS WISHING a visit from the Olympic mascots of London 2012 had better have cash to splash because a visit from Wenlock and Mandeville will cost them £850!

The distinctly underwhelming duo may looked like giant yanked-out wisdom teeth and could go for gold in the world’s ugliest Olympics mascot competition.
Yet head teachers are being asked to stump up this sum before the pair make a playground PA. Schools in Scotland can expect to pay £1,720 to cover overnight stays for the mascots – and their assistant!
Just don’t speak to the children…got it?
For this, two trained actors will roll up in their van, don costumes and ‘behave in character’ but are NOT permitted to speak to youngsters.
Schools who wish to avoid this nonsense have asked to hire the costumes instead but Olympics bosses were quick off the starting block with their response.
Only the very best for Wenlock and Mandeville
A spokesman said: “Wenlock and Mandeville have very whole characters so it is very important that we use professional actors so that they follow through with these characters at appearances.”
That’s the end of that then!
Underwhelming response
The gruesome twosome were apparently created ”to connect young people with sport” but so far, just FOUR schools have shelled out to make that connection – although 58 primaries have ‘won’ visits from the one-eyed mascots.
Nice of them to drop by!
Olympian levels of stupidity
Whoever thought this was a good idea might just triumph in 2012…. but only there’s a competition for Olympian levels of stupidity. Or looking even dafter than Olympic mascots Wenlock and Mandeville.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse….
The animation clip was so dreadful that Wenlock and Mandeville were the best things about it.

I don’t think Wenlock and Mandeville should be allowed to be near anyone’s children.
